Let's go camping!

Find the place you want to camp and know the amenities that you will have.

Let’s face it, you can camp many places but the real question is where would you like to go or what would you like to see while you’re on this trip.  Are you going to get away from everything and relax?  Just a nice quite place to unwind, read a good book and cook some great food.

Or are you looking for an adventure where you might hike the areas like Katahdin, Acadia, Lily Bay or maybe you want to check out Hipcamp.com.  This website offers camping on an owner’s land and hiking their land with shores, beaches, mountains and forests.  These places are not free but usually very reasonable.

Are there options in the area to do something fun?  Maybe you want to go whitewater rafting, sky diving, bungee jumping, visit a museum, or go to a renaissance fair.  Remember fun is different for everyone and different days sometime require different activities.

Or are you camping along the way to get to a destination?  More about that in a bit.

There are tons of online sites and apps to help find camping places like campgrounds, State parks, small free tenting/RV locations out of the way (boon docking or stealth camping) and friends/family camps(mooch docking).  Each of these will have totally different amenities at each location.  So make sure you know what the amenities will be available – like active showers and bathrooms, shore power, and trash receptacles for example - so you can be prepared with what you will need to be comfortable on your trip.

Nomadic camping is another type of camping will take you on longer trips but you will camp along the way to your destination.  Maybe you are driving from Maine to South Carolina and you want to stop to camp after 8hrs of driving to stay for a day or two before driving again.  This type of camping requires a bit more thought of how/what to pack because you will setup and breakdown often. Consider if there are public rest stops along the highway, if you’ll need to stay in a parking lot for the night, or if there are spots along to your final location you’d like to visit.

All of these options will work well for Coachwork’s Squaredrop trailers, We’d love to hear from you!
